Businesses across Asia Pacific have been increasing their efforts to virtualize server workloads in their data centers. However, many organizations still resort to the traditional approach of over-provisioning and restricting users or applications to share certain servers. Some even procure multiple management tools for physical and virtualized assets and IT workloads. Disproportionate IT workloads on servers can negatively impact quality of service. Not only that, such ad hoc practices result in endless IT labour and cost in order to continuously reserve and monitor resources. Organizations that take this route eventually spend a lot of time on test and migration tasks which can today easily be significantly optimized and automated.
Better management and automation tools and virtualization solutions are crucial to data center transformation in an organization. Businesses today can and should take advantage of emerging data center solutions to achieve a significant boost in service quality and substantial reductions in IT labour and costs. This workshop reflects on what is shaping and driving data-center technology today and walks you through the imperatives for creating a cost effective and intelligent data center that lets you do more with less. |
