Consumerization of IT: Finding balance in a changing landscape
The trends are clear. More and more executives today are starting to prefer using their own devices for both work and play.
Thanks to the availability of wireless connectivity, cloud access, Software as a Service applications and smart mobile devices, users want the convenience of being able to access company data from anywhere, using multiple devices, depending on the need. This fast-changing landscape is creating the need for IT managers to find a balance between flexibility and control. In light of these trends, what are the new requirements coming from companies themselves and how are hardware partners like Lenovo adjusting to these needs?

Business-IT Alignment: Building an Infrastructure that Works
There are many causes for IT ineffectiveness as there are symptoms. And IT must be prepared to adjust
to forces that are sometimes out of its control. Business turmoil which forces more demand on IT,
requires strategies and plans that are tightly bound to every stage of an organisation’s transformation.
Getting it right at the beginning is half the battle won. Why is transformation seemingly at a standstill?
What are the issues CIOs must address in order to move forward? How can organisations be up to speed
and gain agility to quickly respond to changing market demands and enter new global markets?

Managing IT Risk - Through Business Process Automation
The business of IT has transitioned from standalone applications with dedicated resources to integrated applications on shared infrastructures. In the days of applications silos, business and IT users operated in their own domains often resulting in IT and the business operating out of sync. Likewise, there was less data integration with separate reports from sales, marketing, and supply chains. Enterprise collaboration came slowly, or not at all; and when processes break, things go wrong. Now business users demand more from IT, which is driving the requirements for IT to enable higher levels of enterprise collaboration. This presentation shows how IT organizations can achieve better enterprise collaboration. Learn how to better manage IT risk with end-to-end process automation, from the IT infrastructure to business processes.

Leveraging IT to Create More Business Value
Traditionally, IT creates business value by improving transaction speed, allowing easier and faster information sharing, increasing productivity and speed to market. With the forces of cloud computing, mobility and social networking, there are more value IT can bring to the business. In this session, F5 would like to share the viewpoint of how to leverage these technological evolutions to bring more value to the business and what you need to look at in your IT infrastructure in order to cope with the change.

    Data Center Transformation
Though many CIOs believe that their investments in DC transformation over the past 3 years are now finished, there is a new challenge being brought by yet another technology generation. With virtualization environments now capable of managing in excess of 200 virtual machines per physical server, the looming arrival of shared cache architectures for server platforms lays the foundation for faster VM recovery/boot & high availability, expands the options for “in memory” applications and will be disruptive to many of today’s applications & platforms. Unless there are overriding reasons why the applications must stay on-premises, most organizations will be challenged to cost-effectively compete with the cloud-based solutions. To improve competitiveness with cloud-sourced infrastructure, there will be increasing reliance on the deployment of private clouds by way of packaged, vertically integrated hardware/software vendor offerings delivered as a drop-in appliance.

Where is the Castle Now Under the Threats of Cyber Security and Privacy?
Many things rely on Internet now, such as communication, entertainment, transportation, shopping, medicine, and the list goes on.

How much of your daily life relies on Cyber applications? Gmail, Google+, Facebook, WhatsApp, Dropbox, Weibo, and the list also goes on.

How much of your personal information is stored either on your computer, your mobile device, on someone else´s system or on Cloud?
Credit card numbers, medical records, photos, and unfortunately, the list goes on as well.

In the old days, you´ve heard the news stories about credit card numbers being stolen and email viruses spreading. Maybe you had even been a victim yourself.

What can be the next cyber security and privacy risks? One of the best defenses is to understand the risks, what some of the basic terms mean, and what you can do to protect yourself against them.

Corporate Digital Investigation: The China Challenge
The 2011 CyberSecurity Watch Survey reported that 21% of attacks are caused by insider and 33% view the insider attacks are more costly. Moreover, it was found that the insider attacks cause additional harm to organizations that could be difficult to quantify, e.g. organization’s reputation, loss of confidential or proprietary information, etc. Many corporates in Hong Kong have close relationship with China, such as holding company and subsidiary, business partners, etc. These relationships usually require transfer of confidential or proprietary information. On the other hand, IP theft is a well-known problem in China, e.g. software copyright and machine design.

In Hong Kong, if an organization suspects there is digital data leakage by an insider, the management may conduct an internal investigation through the internal audit, external auditor or hire professional digital forensic service. According to the legal system in Hong Kong, these auditors or the forensic professionals could produce an expert report and appear in the court as expert witness if necessary. If similar incident appeared in China, how should the corporate react? Could the corporate hire professional digital forensic services in Hong Kong to conduct the investigation?

In this talk, the speaker will briefly describe the digital forensic legal system in China and highlight what the corporate should do when perform digital forensics and investigation in China.
