04:15pm | Cutting Through The Mobility Hype This presentation highlights the issues that IDC believes will shape the Asia-Pacific mobile business services market in 2012. The growing trend around the Consumerisation of IT has exasperated some organizations and exhilarated others. Some companies see it as adding massive complexity to an already confused IT environment. Others see it as an excellent way to embrace change and drive engagement, productivity and revenue. Regardless, it is hard to deny that mobility, consumerisation and cloud have combined to create a tumultuous and exciting mobile services environment for vendors, partners and enterprise organizations. This presentation addresses the mobility issues beyond email and internet access - security, applications, near field communications and mobile analytics.

04:45pm | Rethinking Information Security Information risk and security has always been to some extent a balancing act. On the one hand, you can view the risk and control functions that we’re trying to manage as increasing cost, and constraining the use of data and systems. And so therefore, you might have some view within the company or some users that this should just be completely opened.
This session will cover how Intel IT division addressed a balancing act to address risk and security and will discuss how we plan to create and extend computing technology by helping to make devices, the cloud, the data and the people secure.

06:00pm | Mobile Apps Testing: Testing the Unmanageable We live in a changing landscape of application delivery for both commercial and personal consumption. Particularly when it comes to mobile applications running on mobile devices. No longer can the industry dictate what devices are used to access their applications; rather, users make their own choices based on uncontrollable parameters.
Last year, there were 130 different Android devices (not including tablets) running on 7 different platform versions and 2 firmware sets. This means, there is an excess of 1800 device combinations that should be tested to ensure business functionality is delivered to the market. Clearly this is not possible and even more alarming is the rate at which this diverse ecosystem is expanding.
This session will focus on techniques and technology that address this phenomenon. It will include:
- Edge Testing: Testing the extremes of technological differences
- Commonality Testing: Testing the most common mobile devices and how these techniques are used in concert to mitigate Testing the Unmanageable.

07:45pm | Executive Dinner Briefing - Bring Your Own Device - How To Do It Right It´s a potentially dangerous time in the Enterprise Mobility environment. Organizations are increasingly beset by employees bringing their own devices into the workplace. At the same time, the corporate network environment is changing as companies deploying smartphones and tablets for employees. As this consumerisation of IT gathers pace, it creates a multi-OS, multi-device environment with potentially far higher risks for companies. How can organizations plan for a dynamic mobile work environment to improve productivity, yet still maintain enterprise-grade management of their data, applications and devices?
This RIM and IDC dinner roundtable will discuss how organizations can create greater productivity and employee satisfaction whilst retaining oversite of governance, risk and compliance in a mobile world.
